Welcome to the beta test of BadgerNet, Multiversal Edition! Settle in and enjoy your posting experiences. Everything in this will be non-canon.
Here're some example prompts to play around with. You can make up your own!
1. An embarrassing moment of yours just got posted to the site. Oops!
2. Post your proudest moment to the site.
3. Hiccup Event: Vampires. Everyone affected is a vampire, your choice of what style of vampire.
4. Hiccup Event: Disney Princess. Animals just won't leave you alone!

And so on. Be sure to read the rules and FAQ before posting.
Q'uila Sunrise (WoL) | Final Fantasy XIV | Open
[The camera shakes as what might be a bed comes into frame, it's hard to tell through the sheer number of animals piled onto it. Cats, dogs, coerls, at least one chocobo, a couple of dragonets, and is that a behemoth horn in the corner?!
Sticking out of the mountain of creatures is the arm holding the tomephone and it's just about possible to see a purple ear and a wide, amber eye. Q'uila's voice is wheezy in the microphone.]
Help.
Wildcard - Curiosity
So, where is everyone on this thing from? I have seen some fascinating places already in other's photos and I am curious to know how different the other worlds are to Eorzea.
Curiosity, say hi to precanon Deedee
[This from an overweight man with bright eyes, glasses, dark curly hair and... a good attempt at seeming jovial. He slurps a little soda from a plastic cup labeled "Tote-Em-Snax," and holds up a bag of shrimp chips.]
For example, my job is programming the routes for the tiny quadcopter robots that brought these to my house among others, that helmet (which he indicates) lights up the parts of my brain that make me sense things so I can play video games with it, and I got to see a holocast for a Dreamcatcher cover band last week.
So that's pretty nifty, I'd say.

I am currently in a place called Mor Dhona, 'tis a very unique place even in Eorzea.
[The camera flips around so that the blue crystalline landscape could be seen. Blue crystal carpets the floor and arches up into the air in impressive spikes. Some of the crystal in the background is a rich amber colour.]
You program? 'Tis not a common skill here, mostly the work of those who work with magitek like Cid!
no subject
And like, computers are everywhere in my world and most people can use one, if not really program. I'm talking to you from my computer. I've made a couple of shitty computer games, maybe gonna do Ludum Dare this year.
Wow. Before I got on Badgernet I'd say it's like out of a fairytale or a fantasy novel, but it's beautiful.
no subject
Mor Dhona is certainly singularly striking, there really is not anywhere else like it, though the Burning Wall comes close thanks to the fall of Dalamud, and it makes me glad our headquarters are located here.
What is a Ludum Dare?
Curiosity
I live in a place called New Mecca. It's a huge sprawling kind of metropolis.
[ From the sorry state of his kitchen it's safe to assume he lives in the poorer part of such a large city. His tea cup says Juncture on it. ]
It has what I assume are the usual big city problems, I guess. Drugs, gangs, et cetera. I would say you know, but I would hope that you don't actually know.
no subject
We have some of those issues in Limsa though the gangs are more pirate crews than anything. Do only hyurs live in this New Mecca or are there other Spoken as well in your world?
no subject
Hyur? Is that what I am? [ He gestured to himself. Once she gives her confirmation, the confusion faded. ]
We use the term human here, and humans are all that live here. Other than animals, of course. Not that there is much wildlife in the city.
What other uh Spoken(?) are there in... Eorzea?
no subject
There seem to be many worlds where there are only hyurs, 'tis a shame if you ask me. As for the other spoken, give me a moment.
[The video cuts out for a bit and when it reconnects it is to the sight of white spires, a bustling marketplace and clear blue skies. The angle of the video is from above the hustle and bustle for a clearer view and she starts to point at passersby as she names the other races.]
The smallest are Lalafell, you can see a couple of them haggling over there. The ones with horns and scales are Au Ra. The marauder over there is a Roegadyn and his partner is an Elezen. Oh! See the woman with the tall ears? She is a Viera and the gentleman next to her with the mane and fangs is a Hrothgar.
no subject
The sky is so blue there, and so clear... [ Apparently that was a wonder all its own. ] There are so many kinds of people... Does everyone have a certain job, then?
no subject
Most have certain jobs though most trades are freely taught to any who show interest. Limsa is famous for a number of trades; specifically, the Fisherman Guild, the Blacksmith and Armourer Guild, and the Culinarian Guild. for the more martially minded there is the Marauder Guild, the Arcanist Guild and the Rogue Guild.
I am an Adventurer so I have at least dabbled in most of those but those in my family tend to specialise, for example, my mother is on of the head pastry chefs at the Culinarian Guild.

4, say hi to post-Synodiporia Berne

[Q'uila wiggles trying to get out of the pile. it doesn't work.]
Do you think there might be a version of gaelicatnip that works on all animals?
4 - had to swing by and say hi
[He's at least got an inkling her pain here, he's suffered his share of suddenly a dog in his bed. Stepping all over his legs with its cold little feet. Awful.]
Because that looks more like a petting zoo, and, you should really put up a fence between you and the animals.
I'm glad you did! xxx
[What little of Q'uila's face that can be seen is entirely resigned to her fate.]
I have no idea how they even managed to get in here, they normally live in the barn outside. 'Tis not even sunrise yet.
o/\o
[That scans with the regular activities of mischief bed thieves to him.]
Sounds like somebody had the midnight munchies. And left the door open for everyone else.

[It was almost certainly Pinya. That lalafell was a complete gremlin and this seemed like the kind of trick that she would play.]
Have you ever had any issues with unwanted furry bedfellows?
no subject
[Really, he has to take another second's pause to just take in the cuddled mass heaped on top of her. Incredible. So many different animals just cozy and peaceful in one place, brought together by their shared goal to trap her. What teamwork.]
But at least as persistently!! This one dog... Climbing in my bed. Stealing home-cooked meals. Even stealing my spare bones!!
no subject
Steals your...spare bones? My friend, I think you work very differently to the skeletons I am accustomed to.

And... well, if anyone here has been to Hell, they're not talking about it. It's rumored to be very unpleasant, though.

[ Her expression seems to be quite stern, though not unfriendly. The room behind her - what little can be seen - is quite posh. There appears to be a tankard resting on the table she's sitting at. ]
I am currently talking to you from the continent Sae'ndal, however. I don't think I will ever be able to get all of the sand out from under my nails. The desert doesn't really agree with me. It's too hot and the incessant sunlight hurts my eyes. [ A pause, then she speaks a little more thoughtfully. ] It's not as bad as some places I've been.
no subject
Amandrius? What is that like?
no subject
Truth be told I am not very knowledgeable about much of the world. I cannot speak of Frae'zhing and I honestly cannot speak much for Saen'dal except to complain about the sand and that I made the Grand Sultan laugh at a ball once. I don't know if there are other continents besides those two and Aestall.
Aestall, though, is wonderful. My favorite thing about it is the mountains, but after that I love the rolling plains south of Wakefield and east of West Water. The grass goes up to your knees and the way the wind blows over it makes the grass look almost like water in the way it ripples. You can see for miles, especially on the cliff above the Tribe of Ardun. I had never seen anything so open before.

Aye, poor lad 'tis never much fun for the one in plate. If he cannot or will not shift to more sensible leathers for the duration then there are a couple of ways we manage the heat here though I know not how applicable to your world they may be. One way to do it is to get a selection of ice-aspected crystals and shove them into the armour for some highly localised cooled accompanied by a reaction not dissimilar to dumping ice or snow down the back of someone's top. The other way to do it is to have a mage cast a low level ice spell on the armour. The cold isn't quite intense and it has to be reapplied more frequently but it is spread more equally.
Oh, in Ul'Dah we have a Sultana, 'tis odd what little things are similar between worlds. What you say of this Aestall sounds somewhat like the plains of La Noscea or the wide Azim Steppe.
no subject
The Grand Sultan has a good sense of humor and seems like a good man. I quite liked him when he and I first met and I hope to have the opportunity to meet with him again before we leave Saen'dal and go back to Aestall. I would hope that your Sultana is similar.
I have found that there are many things similar across the planes I have visited, but there are also many things that are very different. It has been exciting to visit these different places and learn about them in the brief time I spend there. It is an experience that has humbled me.
I think I drew a sketch of the area of Aestall just south of the Bridgecour Wilds. Let me check.
[ She reaches over to grab a book, then starts flipping through it. She finds the page she's looking for and holds it up. While it's clear that Charbryn is not an artist by trade, she is by no means a slouch. What's pictured is what appears to be plains with rocky hills that roll, seeming to grow larger to one direction and lesser to the other. It's done mostly in ink, but there is some pigment on the page as well, though it's more subtle. ]
It is a very beautiful place to be. I cannot really do it justice, but the view was just as breathtaking as the mountains.
