Yom Kippur just passed... It's a little too late for this year, but does anyone know a good substitute for fasting when you haven't eaten in centuries? I feel like I should do something different.

G'mar Chatima Tovah. The small portion of my head that's far more religious than the rest of me would suggest blocking out the times that you would have used for meals and using them for prayer instead.

Oh, thank you! It's been such a long time that I'm not sure I remember when I had meals, but I can take my best guess.

I'm not all that observant either, although I do my best with what I can.

Did you know the distinctive sounds of 1980's anime themes are because klezmer music was huge in Japan?

Well, I know Cousin Floride and Cousin Pavro both give up several ribs, and Cousin Chronus removes his stomach. It's not quite the same of course, but I think it's the thought that's supposed to count! After all, we can't help how we are made!

Just the way you took it out, but in reverse, of course! It's really quite simple. If you're worried about lining things up properly you could always ask a friend or your local mortician for help.

Now that simply won't do at all, everyone needs a good mortician! You should check the phone book, or I suppose whatever is similar in your world, and find a reputable one!

And as for friends, nonsense! How can a handsome litch like yourself not have any friends? You must come over for dinner. Would a seance summon you?

I do not know the rites of which you speak, but I would hope that any God who bid you to honor them thus will understand that you currently lack the means by which to do so.

Though were it one of my mortal worshippers, I would ask for other sacrifices, as appropriate. Returning gemstones to the earth or a burning of incense is a customary sign of fealty to me, but such would insult my cousins and brothers on high Olympos, so consult your scriptures.

Animal sacrifices ended with the destruction of the Temple, so that one's out... Maybe giving charity would work?

It is good that charity to the less fortunate is pleasing to your God. Would that my own brothers atop the mountain were so magnanimous.
